It seems to be ever too frequent now but once again we start the new year with some very sad news.
Not many of you will know the name, Bob Stratton. Bob has been BMH’s maintenance manager since 6th January 2014 when he joined Heritage.
Since then Bob has maintained all of the equipment at Witney – in some cases keeping items going that should have been scrapped many years ago. In the last 4 years he has made regular visits to our suppliers to maintain tooling and look at more efficient ways to run product – bear in mind some of these tools are 60 plus years old!
Unfortunately, Bob passed away after a short illness on Saturday.
As well as being the tool guru Bob was an extremely genuine human being, had time for everyone and always explained, in layman terms, what was needed to improve both tools and equipment. His legacy will live on for many, many years and our condolences go out to his family (Nick, his son works at BMH), friends and colleagues.
He will be sorely missed.
No doubt Pete Buckles will be waiting for him so they can start on some Triumph tooling in the great pressing shop in the sky!
