More sad news; Gordon Bruce has sadly passed away

Gordon Bruce who for the last 15 years has handled all of the PR for British Motor Heritage (amongst other things!) died suddenly on 21st December.

Gordon Bruce

Gordon Bruce Associates was established in 1982 by Gordon, who’s previous experience included Motor Magazine test editor and Ford PR Manager. The company rapidly evolved into one of Europe’s leading automotive communication consultancies, whose 20 strong team of top specialists was the first choice for many of the world’s major manufacturers and suppliers. In 2005, part of the company was sold to a competitor, since when GBA has been successfully operated as a boutique consultancy, serving selected clients (including BMH, Tex & Concours Carpets) of its own as well as providing support to fellow marketing agencies and in-house PR departments.

Gordon Bruce

He held a lifelong passion for anything engine powered, and was really struggling to get his head around anything to do with electric vehicles! He was a qualified mechanical engineer, whose industrial training included researching & testing carbon fibre for the Concorde project (during which time he claimed to have helped make the world’s first carbon fibre golf club) and worked in the engineering department of Lotus Cars, where amongst other things he designed the base for Colin Chapman’s boardroom table.

What has turned out to be one of his last articles written on our behalf will appear in the February edition of the E-Type magazine.

The magazine has devoted six full pages to the article ranged across four double-page spreads, and includes 27 images. The piece will form a prominent part of the February issue and is a fitting tribute to the work that Gordon has done for us over the years.

He will be sorely missed at British Motor Heritage and we send our sincere condolences to Marilyn and his family.

BMH Managing Director
